Mechanical or electronic tension meters

Hans Schmidt control instruments distributes numerous tension meters worldwide. We offer mechanical or electronic versions of the devices as well as hand-held or stationary measuring instruments. The tension meters which can measure fine fibres and threads through to thick ropes and wires are designed for branches of industry such as the wire industry and textile industry.

Belt tension meters or trummeters

A belt tension meter is a frequency meter for drive belts or fan belts. This meter which ascertains belt tension contactless is also known as trummeter and has a measurement range from max. 10 to 800Hz.

Force gauges and test stands

The test stands and force gauges are designed to ascertain tension, pressure and other kinds of force. The force-displacement measuring systems have a large scope of applications and can be used for testing cable connections, solder joints and crimp connectors, for monitoring grocery properties or for testing SMD packaging and adhesive films. Suitable clips, testing devices and displays are available.

Universal testing machines

Universal testing machines determine tensile strength, compressive strength or breaking strength which is why they are also known as force-displacement measuring systems or force-time measuring systems. There are many designs, either mounted or manual depending to intended use. Measurement values can be assessed and saved using software for generating force- displacement diagrams.

Torque meters with measured data storage

Imada torque meters with measured data storage and output signal precisely determine torque. The meter determines the sealing force on screw top bottles or the torque of screws or components. It is available as a hand-held device with a separate force sensor, as a tabletop torque meter or as a motor-driven model and is optimally suited to a continuously running static load test in the beverage industry.

Tachometers or revolution counters

Our revolution counters, or tachometers, measure speed precisely. You can choose between digital tachometers with contactless measurement or contact measurement or between ergonomic design and robust aluminium industrial design.

Speed and length meters

The Hans Schmidt speed and length meters are available for a variety of areas of application. Special thread length meters are on offer for the circular knitting industry as well as speed and length meters for cables and fine wire. You are sure to find the appropriate meter to combine with the thread speed.

Stroboscopes

Stroboscopes, also known as flash units, do the job of determining rotational speeds, monitoring moving parts and determining oscillation frequencies in continuously operating systems. We offer various meters from the field of optical sensors: LED stroboscopes, Xenon flash units in an ergonomic form and in a robust industrial design.

Thickness gauges and thickness measuring systems

Analogue and digital thickness gauges are designed for determining the thickness of leather, paper, wire, textiles, non-woven materials, films and many more materials according to DIN and ASTM standards. Furthermore, there are technically optimised thickness gauges for pipe walls as well as for measurements in continuous wires or belts.

Shore durometers

The Hans Schmidt control instruments Shore durometer precisely measures the Shore hardness of certain materials, such as rubber, thermoplastics or elastomers. The indentation hardness for a rubberised roll can also be determined using this meter.

Yarn package hardness testers

A meter to test spool hardness such as yarn bobbins, dyeing bobbins or loom beams, regardless of whether they are chemical fibres or carpet fibre. The yarn package hardness tester is an essential element of the textiles industry. Hans Schmidt offers extra model ranges for small and large spools.

Leak detectors

The leak detector is used in the field of pneumatics for leak detection at a vent or in armatures, pressure chambers or steam pipelines. These meters are useful in inaudible areas, e.g. loud places, on the one hand and, on the other hand, in commercial areas as they reduce operating costs for compressed air networks.

Stiffness testers

The stiffness tester determines the stiffness or softness of paper, non-woven material, plastic foil and other textiles and materials.

Sample cutters

The Hans Schmidt control instruments sample cutters cut fabric, carpets, foils, paper, non-woven materials and other fabric samples precisely. It cuts the desired area out exactly so that both weight and material strength can be determined. The sample cutters are available in six variations and sizes.

Area weight balances

Our balances, or area weight balances, determine the weight per unit area of fabrics, paper, non-woven materials, woven materials or textiles with the utmost precision. These special balances are equipped with a tare function and a display in grams (g) or grams per square meter (g/m2).

Textile moisture meters

The moisture meter measures the residual moisture in textiles such as lengths of material, balls of material or spools or paper, cardboard, raw cotton, jute, sisal, leather, cocoa, raw coffee and tea. Additionally, a textile moisture meter was specially developed for H&M suppliers according to their specifications.
